1970 Lincoln Memorial Cent - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-012

Description

1970 WDDO-012 is a doubled die obverse on the 1970 Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. The doubling sits under the 7's horizontal bar and beneath the 0's top, in the date. On the obverse, a scratch comes in from the rim between WE and TRUST, and a NNW to SSE scratch lies in TRUST between the lower parts of the T and R. On the reverse, a SW to NE scratch crosses the right Memorial base beneath the 11th column, and a scratch leads SE off the T in CENT at its top right. Frank Baumann submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
