Description
DDO-005 stands out for displaying its doubling in a different location than the date-focused varieties that dominate this series. Rather than showing extra metal on the 7 or 70, DDO-005 exhibits a strong spread as an extra bar above the L of LIBERTY — a prominent location that makes this variety visually distinctive once identified. Tracked under die markers UVC-2237 and DMR-006, the strong spread designation indicates that the hub misalignment was substantial enough to produce clearly separated secondary design elements visible without high-power magnification. The LIBERTY doubling is particularly useful for quick cherry-picking because collectors can scan the top of the L rapidly across multiple coins.
