Description
The 1970-D Doubled Die Reverse DDR-001 is a doubled die reverse (DDR) variety, where die hubbing misalignment produced visible doubling on the reverse design. This variety was discovered on the 1970 (D) Roosevelt Dime, part of the Roosevelt Dimes Clad and Silver Proof 1965 to Date series. Die markers: UVC-535 DMR-002 Stage A: Light die scratch from lower Left A of STATES to lower first T of STATES – EDS Mintmark is slightly Right of center – EDS Stage B: Reverse and Obverse are MDS UVC-536 DMR-003 Stage C: Die scratch North from B of PLURIBUS – LMDS Obverse die changed – EDS Mintmark is far Right of center Stage D: Reverse is LDS Obverse is MDS.
