Description

Documented by VarietyVista, this 1969-S proof Jefferson Nickel presents an S/S Rotated CCW repunched mintmark combined with a light Class II-C+VI doubled die on the reverse, creating a dual-variety specimen. Die markers UVC-???? / DMR-0?? indicate this variety's codes have not yet been formally assigned. Three stages: Stage A with obverse and reverse at EDS; Stage B at MDS (unconfirmed); Stage C at LDS (unconfirmed). Composed of 75% copper and 25% nickel, weighing 5.0 grams with a 21.21 mm diameter. The rotational S displacement creates a tilted overlap rather than a simple directional shift, while the Class II-C+VI reverse doubling documents convergent distortion and extra thickness. The combination of rotated RPM with reverse hub doubling on a single San Francisco Mint proof coin makes this a significant attribution piece.
