Description
The 1968-S Doubled Die Obverse DDO-010 is a doubled die obverse (DDO) variety, where a misalignment during the die hubbing process created visible doubling on the obverse design elements. This variety was discovered on the 1968 (S) Proof Jefferson Nickel, part of the Jefferson Nickels Original Design 1938-2003 series. Die markers: UVC-1332 DMR-016 Stage A: Obverse and Reverse are EDS Stage B: Vertical die gouge Right of the upper last T of TRUST – MDS Horizontal die gouge between and above the Left windows – MDS Stage C: LDS (unconfirmed).
