1964 Kennedy Half Dollar - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-005
ErrorDescription
1964 WDDO-005 is a doubled die obverse on the 1964 Kennedy half dollar, cataloged by the Wexler team. Class II tripling toward the center appears on LIBERTY, the hair detail, IN GOD WE TRUST (IGWT) and the date. On the obverse, a scratch runs NW off the I in IN, and a gouge sits under LIBERTY's T at its far left edge. The reverse has a flared G and a gouge right of AMERICA's last A. John A. Wexler submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references. Wexler notes it once carried a different number and was renumbered to help fill the many gaps in the listings left once three doubled working hubs for the obverse came to light.
