Description

1964 WDDO-004 is a doubled die obverse on the 1964 Kennedy half dollar, cataloged by the Wexler team. Class II doubling, spread toward the center, is visible on the date and on IN GOD WE TRUST (IGWT). On the obverse, a gouge lies left of the date's 9. The reverse has a straight G, with gouges right of the star above HALF's L. John A. Wexler submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references. Wexler notes the variety was renumbered from an earlier, different number to fill some of the many gaps in the listings that opened when three obverse doubled working hubs were discovered.
