Description

A very strong spread towards the center shows on the date, designer's initials, IGWT, LIBE of LIBERTY, the bust and the uppermost back of the head. The last T of TRUST is tripled CW from a pivot at 12:00. Die Markers: Obverse: A die scratch with a close upper fork runs SSW from the eyelid along the nose. Light, dense NNE die scratches in the field run from the center of the nose and along the upper profile. Series of SSW die scratches from the bottom of the nose to the lips. Many die scratches running through IGWT with a strong SSW scratch from the right leg of the R in TRUST. Reverse: Light die scratch from the left lower oak leaf running SSW through the lower acorn, second U of PLURIBUS, the torch base and to the D of DIME. Light die scratch from the M of AMERICA through right upper and lower oak leaves, through the second U in UNUM and to the M of DIME.
