1963 (D) Jefferson Nickel - Repunched Mintmark WRPM-001

Description

1963-D WRPM-001 is a repunched mint mark on the 1963-D Jefferson nickel, cataloged by the Wexler team. A secondary D lies south of the primary D (D/D South). On the obverse, in GOD, NNW die scratches sit low on the right inside the G and run from low on the right inside the O; the star between LIBERTY and the date shows heavy abrasion. On the reverse, a north-south scratch sits at the bottom of the R's right leg in AMERICA, and the design elements show heavy abrasion. Brian Ribar submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
