1962-D Doubled Die Obverse DDO-005

Description

Targeting selective portions of the motto and date, this 1962-D Washington Quarter DDO-005 shows light spread on IN, the letters TRU of TRUST, and 19 of the date. The partial coverage — affecting IN but not GOD WE, TRU but not ST, and 19 but not 62 — reflects the hub displacement geometry, where design elements closer to the axis of misalignment receive less visible doubling while those farther from it show more. Three die stages are documented under catalog codes UVC-1019 and DMR-006. Stage A at early die state remains unconfirmed. Stage B confirms both the obverse and reverse in mid-die state, establishing the primary production window for documented specimens. Stage C at late die state is also unconfirmed.
