1961 Proof Lincoln Memorial Cent - PR-1DER-001T Trail Die Reverse
Error
Description
On the reverse of a 1961 proof Lincoln Memorial cent, 1961PR-1DER-001T shows trails rising from the top of the U in UNITED, at 300°, west-northwest, up and to the left. The parts of the number: 1961 and PR for a proof of that year, 1 for cent, DER for TrailDies' reverse design extension, 001 for its file, T because it is a trail die. The stage B coin in TrailDies' files has no die markers on either side, so the direction and the single letter carrying the trails are the guide to this die. Robert M. Pelletier found it. Behind trails, most see a rotary buff polishing the die; a minority sees the die working against the hub.
Die Markers
