The 1961 Proof Jefferson Nickel WDDO-011 is a Class II distorted hub doubled die obverse attributed in the Wexler Doubled Die Files under 1961 WDDO-011 Proof by Brian A. Ribar. This variety replaced an earlier listing delisted as a doubled working hub, reflecting revised understanding of the die production event. Doubling on IN GOD WE TRUST decreases from left to right across the motto — a directional characteristic useful for distinguishing this Class II variety from others in the 1961 proof sequence. A die dot at the upper left of the small left window of Monticello provides an identifying reverse marker.
