Description

Cross-referenced as FS-102 in the Cherrypickers' Guide, DDO-005 on the 1960 proof Roosevelt dime is the doubled die obverse Wexler numbers WDDO-003. Wexler writes the Cherrypickers number as FS-10-1960-102. Wexler's Coins and Die Varieties describes a Class I CW spread on IN GOD WE TRUST, LIBERTY, the date and the designer's initials. On the obverse a light NE/SW scratch sits on the front of the hair; on the reverse a very small gouge lies below the T of UNITED. Kevin Flynn submitted the coin, and CONECA lists the die as 5-O-I. VarietyVista, crediting Ken Potter, records a very strong spread on IN GOD WE TRUST, LIBERTY, the date, the designer's initials and the hair. Under its marker codes UVC-338 and DMR-007, stage A is an early die state it has not confirmed. Through the later stages it tracks the 19 of the date: strong at stage B (an early-middle die state on both sides), medium at stage C (a middle die state on both sides), and weak from abrading at stage D (a late die state on both sides).
