Description
Light doubling can be seen on the designer's initials, the hair above the ear, the hair on the back of the head, and at the eyelid. Die Markers: Obverse: Die chip in the cavity above the eyelid and where the forehead begins. Die chip (dot) just right of the vertical and above the horizontal bars of the L in LIBERTY. Reverse: The reverse is a doubled die listed in the Wexler Doubled Die Files as 1960 10¢ Pr WDDR-001. A strong CW spread can be seen on all letters and dots around the rim, EPU, and the right stem. Strongest at UNITED. Die chips on the leaves touching the torch holder on the left-hand side. Die chip at the left side of the A in STATES positioned between the center and top.
