Sinnock's designer initials JS, the date, and the motto IN GOD WE TRUST characterizes WDDO-014 for the 1960 Roosevelt dime — a proof variety, as indicated by the Wexler Variety ID designation 1960 10¢ Pr WDDO-014. Proof dimes in 1960 were struck at the Philadelphia Mint using specially prepared dies and polished planchets, with proof production totaling approximately 1.69 million sets. The mirror-finish surfaces of proof coins can both enhance and complicate variety detection: the reflective fields make raised doubling more visible under certain angles, but the precise strike quality can cause light doubling to appear as mere design sharpness rather than a discrete secondary impression.
