1959 (D) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Repunched Mintmark WRPM-011

Description

1959-D WRPM-011 is a repunched mint mark on the 1959-D Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. Wexler describes it as D/D West, with the secondary D west of the primary. On the obverse, a scratch runs NNE from the chin, and NE/SW scratches cross the 19 of the date, the neck, and RTY in LIBERTY. Another scratch heads SW from just under the left center of the E in LIBERTY, and a weak die clash shows behind the neck. On the reverse, a die clash fills most of bay three apart from its upper right part, and another clash sits in the upper part of bay eight. NW/SE scratches cross ONE, and scratches run NNE from the upper left and upper center of the T in CENT up to the Memorial base. A crack follows the right cornice all the way from the roof base out to its tip, small chips mark column eleven, and a chipped crack lies on the upper part of column twelve. Albert B. Raddi submitted the variety. CONECA lists it as RPM #11, and its Coppercoins number is 1959D-1MM-011.
