1959 (D) Jefferson Nickel - Repunched Mintmark WRPM-006

Description

1959-D WRPM-006 is a repunched mint mark on the 1959-D Jefferson nickel, cataloged by the Wexler team. A secondary D lies north of the primary D (D/D North). On the obverse, die clash remnants show through the queue and at the throat; many crisscrossing scratches cover the obverse; a curving scratch running north to east lies left of IN and below it; many strong north-south scratches lie under LIBERTY; and a gouge sits under the N in IN, toward its right side. On the reverse, many strong NE/SW scratches cover the field; a strong scratch leaves the first U in UNUM heading SW; and another strong one heads SW off the steps and touches the T in MONTICELLO on its left side.
