Description
1956 WDDO-006 is a doubled die obverse on the 1956 proof Washington quarter, cataloged by the Wexler team. Extra thickness, spread toward the center, appears on LIBERTY, the ribbon's bottom, the designer's initials, the date and IN GOD WE TRUST. On the obverse, NW/SE scratches cross the top of the forehead, and two NNW/SSE scratches lie right of the back of the eye. Wexler notes no significant reverse markers. Whaden Curtis submitted the variety. CONECA lists it as 5-O-II+VI.
