Listed as Wexler Variety ID 1956 25c Pr WDDO-002, this proof Washington Quarter exhibits extra thickness spread toward the center on IN GOD WE TRUST, the date, designer's initials JF (John Flanagan, who created the Washington Quarter in 1932), the bottom of the hair ribbon tying Washington's queue, and LIBERTY. The spread-toward-center mechanism indicates the secondary hub impression was slightly smaller or more tightly registered than the primary, causing design elements to thicken inward rather than outward.
