1955 Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-005

Description

A close CCW spread shows on the letters of IGWT and slightly on the LIB of LIBERTY. Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: A die chip fills the upper R in TRUST. Obverse Stage B: A die chip fills the upper S in TRUST. Reverse Stage A: The reverse is also a doubled die listed as 1955 1¢ Pr WDDR-002. A close spread towards the center shows on the left wheat ear and stalk, EPU, and both dots. No significant die markers. Reverse Stage B: A small die gouge can be found to the right of the upper B in PLURIB Obverse Stage A:
