This variety was discovered on the 1953 (D) Lincoln Wheat Cent, part of the Lincoln Wheat Cents 1909-1958 series. Die markers: UVC-1054 DMR-027 Stage A: Obverse is EDS Small die gouge between last A of AMERICA and wheat – EDS Stage B: Obverse and Reverse are EMDS Stage C: Light die clash at throat and behind neck – MDS Light die crack across forehead New die scratch pattern on Reverse – MDS Stage D: Stronger die crack across forehead – LMDS Die gouge on Reverse is gone – LMDS Stage E: LDS (unconfirmed).
