1952-S Repunched Mintmark RPM-006

Description

Cataloged under UVC-233 and DMR-008, the 1952-S Roosevelt Dime RPM-006 records a northward S/S secondary punch shift, with the mintmark identified as MMS-004, the Tall style. The Tall S mint mark style is a recognized diagnostic for a subgroup of 1952-S repunched mintmark varieties, providing an initial filter before the directional shift itself is examined. Three die stages are recorded: Stage A is early die state, currently unconfirmed; Stage B is mid-die state, confirmed; Stage C is late die state, confirmed. Both Stage B and Stage C are confirmed, giving this variety a strong die stage documentation record compared to many entries in the Roosevelt Dime repunched mintmark census.
