1952 (S) Roosevelt Dime - Repunched Mintmark WRPM-005

Description

1952-S WRPM-005 is a repunched mint mark on the 1952-S Roosevelt dime, cataloged by the Wexler team. Wexler describes it as S/S North. On the obverse, the forehead has two die chips (dots) at its part, and a broken scratch curves SW from the upper left of the date's 2, ending at the 5's upper right center. The reverse has a Tall mint mark. In the field over the lower olive is a die chip (dot). From the M in AMERICA, at its upper left, a scratch runs ESE across MERICA to UNUM's M, and a die chip (dot) sits in the lower opening of UNUM's M, nearer its left center. Jeff Longeuay submitted the variety. CONECA lists it as RPM #6. Wexler includes it in its "Best Of" varieties.
