Description

Central doubling shows on the left side of the upper bell structure, the left side of the upper bell supports, the top of the bell supports, the bell clapper, the bottom of the bell, the eagle’s talons, and the eagle’s tail feathers. Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: A curving die scratch can be found to the left of the top of the 1st 1 in the date. Circular die scratches run parallel to the rim through the letters of IGWT and LIBERTY. Obverse Stage B: The curving de scratch at the 1 in the date is weaker, but still visible. The circular die scratches can no longer be seen. Reverse Stage A: A short but strong die gouge can be found under the left end of the bell yoke. Two parallel die scratches run SW to NE through the bottom right side of the E to the R in AMERICA. A short, vertical die gouge can be found below the right side of the E in AMERICA. Two parallel die scratches run SE from the bottom of the 2nd U in UNUM. A die clash mark can be found above the right side of the bell. Reverse Stage B: The die gouge below the left end of the bell yoke is still visible, but other Stage A markers can no longer be seen. Obverse Stage A:
