1951-D Repunched Mintmark RPM-001

Description

Holding the primary catalog position for the 1951-D date, this VarietyVista-documented Roosevelt Silver Dime shows a D/D North repunched mintmark. Cross-referenced as Fivaz-Stanton FS-501. Die markers UVC-211 / DMR-002 track four stages: Stage A at EDS (unconfirmed); Stage B at MDS (unconfirmed); Stage C with reverse and obverse at LMDS; Stage D with reverse at LDS and a die chip on the nostril at LDS. The nostril die chip at Stage D provides a distinctive late-state obverse attribution marker located on Roosevelt's portrait. The FS-501 listing confirms this as an actively sought Cherrypickers' Guide variety. Designed by John R. Sinnock, struck at Denver in 90% silver and 10% copper at 2.50 grams and 17.91 mm.
