1950 (D) Lincoln Wheat Cent - Repunched Mintmark WRPM-024

Description

1950-D WRPM-024 is a repunched mint mark on the 1950-D Lincoln Wheat cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. Wexler describes it as D/D West: the secondary D lies west of the primary. Obverse markers: a scratch heading SW from the inside right edge of the date's 9, ending in the field below; SW/NE field scratches below IN GOD; a crack that leaves the top of the ear and wanders north into the hair below WE; and a gouge running NE off the Y of LIBERTY's right side. Reverse markers: a crack on the right wheat stalk from the bottom kernel up to the second kernel from the top; a scratch heading east from the upper right of the E in ONE to the base of the M in UNUM; a series of scratches forming an X above the tip of that E's bottom leg; and a scratch heading SE from the I of AMERICA, starting at its bottom edge and ending in the field below.
