1950 (D) Lincoln Wheat Cent - Repunched Mintmark WRPM-019

Description

1950-D WRPM-019 is a repunched mint mark on the 1950-D Lincoln Wheat cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. Wexler describes it as D/D Tilted (Rotated): the secondary D is turned relative to the primary. Obverse Stage A has scratches heading SE beneath the 50 of the date and ending in the field by the rim, plus several field scratches below VDB. Stage B adds a crack at the back of the bust that runs east above VDB and ends at the bust's bottom edge, right of the initials. On the reverse, Stage A has a N/S scratch to the right of the E in ONE, a scratch from the base of that E to the top of the T in CENT, and N/S scratches along the side of that T. Wexler notes no markers for reverse Stage B. Thomas Kalantzis submitted Stage A and Scott Rusch Stage B. Wexler lists no cross-references.
