Description
1950-D WRPM-017 is a repunched mint mark on the 1950-D Lincoln Wheat cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. Wexler describes it as D/D Tilted (Rotated): the secondary D is turned relative to the primary. Obverse markers: E/W scratches from the E of WE across to the first T of TRUST; two scratches heading SSW from the O of GOD, starting at its lower center; and a scratch heading NNE from the R of LIBERTY at its upper left. Reverse markers: a scratch heading NW to the left wheat from the U of UNITED, starting at its upper left; a gouge (dot) at the upper right of the M in AMERICA; a NNE/SSW scratch inside the first A of AMERICA; and NW/SE scratches between the rim and about three fourths of the upper wheat. Ben Peters submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
