1950 (D) Lincoln Wheat Cent - Repunched Mintmark WRPM-010

Description

1950-D WRPM-010 is a repunched mint mark on the 1950-D Lincoln Wheat cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. Wexler describes it as D/D Tilted (Rotated): the secondary D is turned relative to the primary. Obverse Stage A has a SW/NE scratch through the lower right of the mint mark, and a strong gouge heading north from the back of the head that meets a long SW/NE scratch lined up beneath IN. Stage B adds a crack that arcs from the lower left of the V in VDB, runs NE along the V's top edge, then turns east and wanders slowly SE to end at the bottom edge of the bust. On the reverse, Stage A has a field gouge beneath the second U of UNUM, with scratches running mostly south from it, and scratches right of the last A in AMERICA. Stage B adds a chip to the right of that A. David Mulberry submitted Stage A and John Bordner Stage B. Coppercoins lists it as 1950D-1MM-013.
