Description
D/D/D South and Tilted (Rotated) Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: Two die scratches run SE in the field to the lower right of the E of WE. Die scratch starting from the top of the head runs NE connecting with the two SE die scratches creating an X marker. Obverse Stage B: Die gouge runs east from the top of the bow tie. Stage A die scratches lower right of E of WE has been reduced to one die scratch due to die polishing. N/S die scratch to the right of the Y of LIBERTY. Die gouge above the right side of the T of LIBERTY. Very thin die crack runs from the back of the ear meandering north ending in the hair below the W of WE with a second branch of the die crack running west towards the back of the head; too thin to photograph. Obverse Stage C: Die crack running from ear to head has become stronger. Die crack runs south from bottom of 9 of date. Obverse Stage D: Die chip above the I of LIBERTY. Obverse Stage E: Die scratch runs NE from lower bust to 9 of date. Obverse Stage F: Die scratch running from bust to 9 of date is weaker and shorter. Reverse Stage A: Die crack on right side of right wheat stalk in line with the last S of STATES ending at the lower right edge. Reverse Stage B: Die crack on right side of right wheat stalk in line with the last S of STATES ending at the lower right edge has grown larger and longer. Reverse Stage C: Second reverse. Die crack runs north from top edge of left wheat stalk Reverse. Stage D: Arching die scratch to the left of the C of CENT. Die scratch running N/S to the right of the CENT. Reverse Stage E: Die scratch runs south from the bottom of the O in OF. Reverse Stage F: Die gouge between and above the E and P of E PLURIBUS. Obverse Stage A:
