Description

The 1947-S Roosevelt Dime OMM-002 is an S/D overmintmark variety cataloged by VarietyVista under codes UVC-170 and DMR-013, with the cross-reference FS-502. The mintmark designation S/D Centered indicates that a Denver-punched D mintmark was applied to the die and subsequently overpunched with an S, the residual D impression remaining partially visible beneath the S. The reverse die is further designated MMS-002 (Trumpet Tail), referencing the distinctive mintmark puncheon variant for this die. Roosevelt Dimes of 1946–1964 were struck in 90% silver, and the San Francisco Mint produced these coins in large quantities throughout the postwar era.
