The 1947-S Doubled Die Obverse DDO-002 is a doubled die obverse (DDO) variety, where a misalignment during the die hubbing process created visible doubling on the obverse design elements. This variety was discovered on the 1947 (S) Lincoln Wheat Cent, part of the Lincoln Wheat Cents 1909-1958 series. Die markers: UVC-1761 DMR-012 Stage A: EDS (unconfirmed) Stage B: MDS (unconfirmed) Stage C: Die gouge at bottom and just to the Right of the ear lobe resembling a crescent earring – LDS Reverse is LDS. Mintmark is MMS-004 (trumpet tail).
