Description
Extra thickness shows best on the LIB of LIBERTY. Doubling and tripling toward the center show on IGWT, LIB of LIBERTY, the lips, below the nose and the date. The designer's initials show at least quintupling on the lower J. Die Markers: Obverse: Strong NNE/SSW die scratch at the bridge of the nose combined with a series of smaller scratches. Small SSW die scratches from the eye. SSW die scratches from the lower nose and lip area. NE/SW die scratches between the RT of LIBERTY and the brow. Reverse: NW/SE die scratch above the lower left hand oak leaf.
