1947 Lincoln Wheat Cent - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-007

Description

1947 WDDO-007 is a doubled die obverse on the 1947 Lincoln Wheat cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. The eyelid, the top of the bowtie, the bottom of the inner ear, the top of the 9, GOD's D, and the TRU of TRUST show a southward Class IV spread. A partial extra eyelid also shows east of the normal eyelid. Wexler notes no die markers on either the obverse or the reverse. Richard Miller submitted the variety. CONECA lists it as 5-O-IV+VIII and Coppercoins as 1947P-1DO-006. Wexler includes it in its "Best Of" varieties.
