1947 (D) Roosevelt Dime - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-002

Description

1947-D WDDR-002 is a doubled die reverse on the 1947-D Roosevelt dime, cataloged by the Wexler team. UNITED STATES has a close spread toward the center. The obverse has E/W scratches across IN GOD WE TRUST. The reverse has a scratch, given by Wexler as WSW/ESE, running from the oak stem to the mint mark; NW/SE scratches cross ES of STATES, and a heavy scratch heads east from the right side of STATES's A, starting near the A's center. A SE scratch leaves the lower right of the D in UNITED. Bill Van Note submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
