1946 (S) Walking Liberty Half Dollar - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-002

Description

1946-S WDDO-002 is a doubled die obverse on the 1946-S Walking Liberty half dollar, cataloged by the Wexler team. Doubling spread toward the center appears on the date, the right-side shoe, the sun rays and the gown's lower left, and IN GOD WE TRUST shows extra thickness. On the obverse, an N/S scratch lies between the I and N of IN, and scratches run north from the left wing of WE's W. On the reverse, a light crack crosses the bottom of the two longest right-side wing feathers. Kevin Flynn submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
