Description
1946-S WDDR-001 is a doubled die reverse on the 1946-S Walking Liberty half dollar, cataloged by the Wexler team. A spread toward the center with strong extra thickness shows on the rim lettering, E PLURIBUS UNUM, the dots, and the pine needles and cones. A third hubbing triples some of the letters. On the obverse, NE/SW scratches lie on both sides of the date's 6 and inside it. On the reverse, a scratch runs SE from the right center of AMERICA's R to the I. Kevin Flynn submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
