Documented by VarietyVista with die identification codes UVC-120 and DMR-028, DDR-013 is a doubled die reverse variety of the 1946 San Francisco Roosevelt Dime — the first year of the Roosevelt Dime series. The doubling on this variety presents as a light spread on the motto E PLURIBUS UNUM and on the denomination ONE DIME, where the slightly misaligned secondary hub impression left a thin additional outline alongside the primary letter forms. Die state progression covers three documented stages: Stage A is early die state (unconfirmed); Stage B has both reverse and obverse confirmed as mid die state; and Stage C is late die state (unconfirmed). This variety is notable for its die marriage context: the obverse is designated ODV-001, and the reverse is designated MMS-001, the latter bearing the Trumpet Tail mint mark style — a specific form of the S mint mark used at San Francisco in this period in which the upper serif curls outward in a trumpet-bell shape, a feature independently collectible as a mint mark variety.
