Description
1946-D WDDO-009 is a doubled die obverse on the 1946-D Roosevelt dime, cataloged by the Wexler team. A Class V counterclockwise (CCW) spread pivoting near 2:00 shows on LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST and the designer's initials, with a slight spread on the date. The obverse is Type I. Above the T in LIBERTY a gouge sits at the rim, and between the nose and the upper lip a short scratch runs south. The reverse carries the doubling of the doubled working hub WWHR-001. Short, heavy scratches run west from every letter of UNITED, and short, heavy scratches run north from the tops of the oak leaves on the right. Joe Feld submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
