1946 (D) Roosevelt Dime - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-007

Description

1946-D WDDO-007 is a doubled die obverse on the 1946-D Roosevelt dime, cataloged by the Wexler team. A Class V counterclockwise (CCW) spread pivoting near 1:00 shows on the date, IN GOD WE TRUST, LIBERTY, the designer's initials and the front of the neck. The obverse is Type II; scratches run northward inside the ear. The reverse carries the doubling of the doubled working hub WWHR-001. A series of scratches runs NW from the lower part of the torch base around the area of the mint mark, E/W scratches cross the opening on the left side of the flame, and NW/SE scratches pass through NUM in UNUM. Joe Feld submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
