Description

Seventh in the doubled die obverse catalog for the inaugural-year 1946-D Roosevelt Dime, DDO-007 is documented by VarietyVista under UVC-045 with DMR-009. This variety shows a medium spread on "IN GOD WE TRUST," the date, and designer John R. Sinnock's initials displayed side by side, plus a lighter spread on "LIBERTY." The "side by side" notation on the designer's initials suggests the doubling direction causes the two JS impressions to appear adjacent rather than overlapping — a visually diagnostic feature because Sinnock's small initials, located at the truncation of Roosevelt's neck, are concentrated enough that even modest separation becomes apparent. The obverse is identified as ODV-001, linking this to a specific obverse die variety within VarietyVista's cross-referencing framework. Stage A in Early Die State introduces an important attribution marker: a die scratch connects the lower portions of the letters I, B, and E in "LIBERTY," with the reverse also in EDS.
