An S/S West repunched mintmark using the MMS-004 Trumpet Tail punch style distinguishes this 1945-S Wheat Cent, documented by VarietyVista with die markers UVC-1177 / DMR-028. The Trumpet Tail identifies a specific S punch variant with a flared terminal on the lower curve. Three stages: Stage A at EMDS with light die scratches running north-south on the obverse and the reverse also at EMDS; Stage B at MDS (unconfirmed); Stage C at LDS (unconfirmed).
