Description

Bearing a P/P South displacement, this VarietyVista-cataloged 1945-P wartime silver Jefferson Nickel shares its reverse die with DDR-005, combining a repunched mintmark with a doubled die reverse on a single die pair. Die markers UVC-199 / DMR-009: Stage A at EDS (unconfirmed); Stage B with strong die scratches North-South on the reverse at MDS and a light die clash on the obverse at MDS; Stage C at LDS (unconfirmed). The strong die scratches at MDS alongside the light die clash provide multiple secondary attribution points. Composed of 56% copper, 35% silver, and 9% manganese at 5.0 grams and 21.21 mm, the 1945-P features the oversized P above Monticello that marked the wartime silver composition. Dual attribution with DDR-005 increases collector desirability.
