1945-D Doubled Die Obverse DDO-013

Description

Denver Mint Washington Quarters from 1945 contributed their share of doubled die varieties, and DDO-013 presents light spread on RTY of LIBERTY and the ribbon end on Washington's portrait. The ribbon doubling adds a design-element diagnostic beyond the inscription, as the ribbon's contour provides a distinct shape where secondary impressions can be detected. Stage A documents both the obverse and reverse in early-to-mid die state, establishing that the variety was identifiable early in the die's run.
