Documented by VarietyVista with die markers UVC-0558 and DMR-019, DDO-012 on the 1945-D Washington quarter presents a light spread visible on IN GOD WE TRUST — the motto positioned above Washington's head on John Flanagan's classic obverse design. Three die stages have been recorded: Stage A in early die state remains unconfirmed, Stage B in mid die state is also unconfirmed, while Stage C in late die state presents diagnostic die cracks — one across the upper hair, another across the bust, and a third running down the eagle's right wing on the reverse. These three die cracks at Stage C provide the most reliable attribution markers, as they represent a die in advanced deterioration with multiple structural failures developing simultaneously. The 1945-D Washington quarter was struck at the Denver Mint in the original 90% silver and 10% copper composition, weighing 6.25 grams with a diameter of 24.26 mm and a reeded edge.
