The 1944 Repunched Mintmark RPM-017 is a repunched mint mark variety of the United States nickel. This variety was discovered on the 1944 (P) Jefferson Nickel - Wartime Silver Alloy, part of the Jefferson Nickels Original Design 1938-2003 series. Die markers: UVC-164 DMR-018 Stage A: EDS (unconfirmed) Stage B: Reverse and Obverse are MDS Stage C: Die crack from dome through mintmark to rim at K-12:00 – LMDS Die crack O of OF North to steps Right of the C of MONTICELLO Obverse is LDS Stage D: Reverse die cracks stronger – VLDS Die crack North-South with jog through hair to rim at K-12:00 – VLDS.
