The 1944-D Repunched Mintmark RPM-016 is a repunched mint mark variety of the United States nickel. This variety was discovered on the 1944 (D) Jefferson Nickel - Wartime Silver Alloy, part of the Jefferson Nickels Original Design 1938-2003 series. Die markers: UVC-509 DMR-018 Stage A: EDS (unconfirmed) Stage B: Reverse is MDS Die crack from head to rim at K-12:00 – MDS Die crack down face behind eye, nose, and mouth UVC-565 DMR-023 Stage C: Die crack from lower Right building to rim – LDS Die crack from upper Left building to rim Obverse die changed – MDS Die crack West-West in upper hair.
