Description
The 1943 Doubled Die Obverse DDO-001 is a doubled die obverse (DDO) variety, where a misalignment during the die hubbing process created visible doubling on the obverse design elements. This variety was discovered on the 1943 (P) Jefferson Nickel - Wartime Silver Alloy, part of the Jefferson Nickels Original Design 1938-2003 series. Die markers: UVC-109 DMR-056 Stage A: EDS (unconfirmed) Stage B: Die scratches East-West in front of profile – LMDS Reverse is LISTED as RPM-055 – LMDS Die crack from Right dome window South between pillars # 3 and # 4 to steps Stage C: Obverse and Reverse are LDS. Reverse is LISTED as RPM-055.
