ErrorDescription
A doubled eyelid shows to the northeast of the normal eyelid. Die Markers: Obverse: A series of diagonal die scratches run through the 1 and 9 in the date. A series of vertical die scratches run along the back edge of Lincoln’s upper hair. A hash-marked pattern of die scratches show in the field below IN. Two die scratches show at the rim above the W in WE. Horizontal die scratches show between the rim and the upper ST in TRUST. A series of vertical die scratches show inside and in front of Lincoln’s ear. Reverse: A die gouge (dot) shows southwest of the upper left edge of the horizontal crossbar of the T in CENT. A die gouge (dot) shows below the lower horizontal crossbar of the E in CENT. Very light vertical die scratches show inside the lower opening of the first S in STATES.
