Description

Extremely close doubling shows on the underside of the L in LIBERTY. Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: The obverse is an RPM listed in the Wexler RPM Files as 1942-D 1¢ WRPM-011 (D/D South). A die gouge can be found to the right of the top of the O in GOD. A die scratch runs parallel to the rim between the S and T in TRUST. A die scratch runs from SW to NE to the right of the throat. Obverse Stage B: The Stage A markers are much weaker. The doubled die and the RPM are barely visible on this die stage. A die crack runs across the base of the bust. Reverse Stage A: A die scratch runs from SW to NE through the bottom of the P to the top of the L in PLURIBUS. A die scratch runs WSW from the top of the 2nd A in AMERICA. A die gouge is present well below E in AMERICA. Reverse Stage B: The Stage A markers are much weaker, with only the die gouge below E in AMERICA still clearly visible. Obverse Stage A:
